Beginning at 18 months old, this California hound was mated to 13 females to produce at least 19 Champions. I usually say "at least" as the only record I have available are of the hounds who were subsequently used as a sire or dam. "Dracula" was the main driving force behind the Santana hounds and continued to be after Paul and Helen married to become the Santana-Mandeville kennel. The photo is on a printed Stud Card that would have the dog's three or four generation pedigree on the back plus a short description or win history. These were regularly made use of until the early 1980's in the USA. They were easy to hand out or to mail.
