Our dog pedigree software allows you to create a hypothetical, or "test" mating between any sire and dam in the database and then view the result as a complete pedigree. You may choose to simply save this mating for future use or share it with other breedres, clients, or prospective owners.
Generating the Hypomating Report
While other sites may call it a "Testmating", we call our hypothetical pedigrees, Hypomatings. To create a hypothetical mating for a dog, first bring up the dog's pedigree report then click the Hypomating report tab above the pedigree chart. You may also choose to start by entering a sire and dam on the main hypomating report page.
Once on the hypomating report page enter the names of the sire and dam you would like to hypothetially mate, select a breed and click the "Generate Test Litter" button. After submitting the form you will be shown a list of all dogs that match the sire and dam names you entered. Select one sire and one dam from the list and click the "Generate Hypomating" button at the bottom of the page to build your hypothetical litter pedigree.
Saving the hypothetical mating for later use
To save the generated test mating, click the Save Hypomating button in the options bar above the pedigree chart. This will allow you to easily recall the pedigree at a later time without having to re-select the sire and dam each time you wish to view or share it. You can title it however you wish; you can use the sire/dam names or something more relevant to your breeding schedule such as "Litter expected June 2019".
To view your list of saved hypothetical matings, refer to your Account Dashboard and click on Saved Hypomatings in the menu to manage and view your saved entries.

Sharing your hypothetical mating pedigree with others
Once you have created a hypothetical mating, use the Share button in the options bar to bring up a list of ways to share the hypomating pedigree report. You can choose to Embed on your Website, where you can select colors and a 3, 4, or 5 generation table. You can also choose to simply copy the link to the Hypomating Report, as well as share it on various social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram or Email.
