Some old pedigrees give a breeding for this dog as "Ch, FAUNTLEROY x Florence. Ch. "FAUNTLEROY" was wh. 1893, his last litter recorded around 1905, when he would have been a venerable 12 years. If Earnshaw's Spottie had been one of this litter, then she would have been a record-breaking 16 years old when she whelped "Spotted Dick" in 1921. Furthermore there is no evidence for a "Florence" registered or unregistered, This breeding for Earnshaw's Spottie is sadly unfeasible, however tempting it might be to fill in another generation or two on an empty pedigree.
